Synopsis:
When 17-year-old Jamie arrives on the idyllic New England island of Little Bly to act as a summer au pair, she is astonished to hear of the repugnance that precedes her. Seeking the truth surrounding a young couple's tragic deaths, Jamie discovers that she herself looks shockingly like the dead girl-and that she has a disturbing ability to feel the two ghosts. Why is Jamie's connection to the match so intense? What actually happened last summer at Little Bly? As the secrets of the house wrap tighter and tighter around her, Jamie must sail the increasingly blurred divide betwixt the worlds of the life and the dead.
I didn't recognize what to ask when I started Tighter. I hadn`t read any of Adele Griffin`s previous work, and I hadn`t heard much about this one. What I did find within the pages was something I have never read before. It was eerie, crazy, and awesome.

The story really messed with my mind. It starts off innocently enough, but soon draws you in deeper until it has worn you in completely. And so it hits you with the last blow. This book was seriously like nothing I`ve read before. It started off as a contemporary read my might have to the beach, but then turned much darker. There really isn`t a dear way to excuse it.

The writing style was different, and did confuse me at times. I believe that was partly of the craziness. I actually felt as if I was going crazy reading this book. Adele Griffin has intrigued me, and I am certain that I will take another of her books soon.

Jamie was a connectable character, and I truly liked her. I was rooting for her the all time. I don`t need to make much away, but there is something about her part that surprised me so very much. The remainder of the characters were all great as well, the just and the bad.

Tighter is different than anything I`ve read before, and really sinks in and gets you. It`s haunting and eerie, but yet has something that made it so addicting. It`s a quick read, and if you wish to say something that will really deal with your head, Tighter is a book I`d recommend.
